Crypt Balansae is great for low-light low-tech set ups and is proven to be an adaptable plant, making it popular among aquarium hobbyists. Crypt Balansae is one of the larger crypts, its leaves reaching around 60cm tall and 3cm wide in ideal conditions. Under moderate lighting it is likely to flower and create runners, making propagation easy.

Cryptocorynes are root feeders, having a nutrient dense substrate or offering root tabs will ensure healthy growth. If leaves die when first planted, it will develop new fresh growth. This is known as Crypt Melt.
