Small Bird Cages

Smaller birds like budgies, finches, canaries and cockatiels may be light on feathers, but their housing needs still matter. They need enough space to perch, flap and eat without feeling cramped.

Lightweight and easy to reposition, our Avi One Arch Top and Open Top bird cages are well-suited to single birds or small pairs. They’re simple to set up, straightforward to clean, and designed to keep your birds visible and engaged with their surroundings.

Large Bird Cages for Parrots

Larger and more active species like parrots, cockatiels, lorikeets and conures need a sturdier home with plenty of space to stretch and climb. Our parrot cages are built with durable materials, solid bar spacing and smart layouts designed for enrichment.

The Avi One 212 parrot cage is a durable option with a play-top designed for larger species that like to adventure outside their cage. For medium species, we have a great range of bird cages and stand models, making them easy to move and maintain.

Bird Enclosure FAQs

What size bird cage do I need?

The right bird cage depends on your bird’s species and activity level. Canaries and budgies are comfortable in a compact setup with room to perch and flap, while a parrot cage should be taller and sturdier to allow climbing, stretching and interactive play.

Do small bird cages work for long-term housing?

A small bird cage is suitable for finches or canaries, provided it allows for full wing extension and includes perches at different levels. For larger or more active birds, a bigger cage or enclosure is always recommended.

Why choose a parrot cage instead of a standard cage?

Parrots are strong and curious, so a dedicated parrot cage is designed with reinforced materials, secure latches and the space they need for exercise. These cages also support heavier perches and feeding stations.

Is a bird cage stand necessary?

A bird stand is often recommended because it raises the cage off the ground, improving ventilation and making it easier for you to clean around the base. It also mimics your bird’s natural environment and keeps them closer to eye level, which can help with social interaction. Fortunately, most of our cages are already raised, eliminating the need for a separate stand.
