Danios are hardy, fast moving fish. They come from fast moving, highly oxygenated rivers so they do excellent in river biotope aquariums. They are known as a 'temperate' fish meaning they can generally thrive in un-heated indoor aquariums but can thrive just as well at lower tropical temperatures.
