Puppies - The Importance of Early Socialization to Grooming
We understand the importance of early socialization in a puppy's life and that socialization window closing after 16 weeks of age making it harder for the puppy to adjust to new experiences in it's life after this period and they commonly find new spaces, smells and noises a frightening experience if they havent been opened up to them when this window closes.
This is why we suggest early visits to our grooming salon from 12 weeks of age. The first visit to a grooming salon can be daunting so with our experience we can offer a great first experience offering a much shorter groom process , one that introduces the puppy to all the sights and sounds of a grooming salon with introductions to the bath, drying equipment, tools and grooming tables.
Giving the puppy a happy experience with a shorter grooming experience so the next time the puppy visits they already know the process and can process and understand where they are and what is going to happen.
