Handcrafted in New Zealand for slow destruction.
Good things take time.
A dog loves a stick. Obviously. A natural instinct. But as it turns out, not all sticks are created equal...most are not even sticks.
We proudly source our Mānuka wood locally here in Northland, New Zealand, repurposing wood that was cleared and would be discarded as a by-product of local industries.
We ensure 100% of the Mānuka is used—its bark becomes mulch for landscaping, while sawdust, wood shavings, and off-cuts make perfect fuel for wood-fired pizza ovens, BBQs, and smoking meats, thanks to the strong and unique Mānuka aroma.
Safe to chew
A natural chew toy - strong and handcrafted to last. Without any animal products, artificial ingredients or additives. Free from plastics or nylon. Splinter-free - fragments are blunt and soft. Mānuka wood has dense aromatic fibres and the chewed-off fragments are edible.
Mānuka wood is one of the hardest woods in the world but softer than bone or antler.
Suitable for dogs with allergies. Bonno is available in five sizes to cater for dogs of all sizes and breeds.
Enriches your dog’s life
Bonno provides the most natural chewing experience for your dog. Chewing is fun, comforting, satisfying, restful & soothing.
Bonno is the perfect natural alternative for destructive chewers - it tastes better than furniture, not harmful and less expensive.
Natural and eco-friendly
Bonno is made from natural ingredients. Ethically sourced Mānuka is naturally seasoned before being handcrafted into a Bonno chew and finished with New Zealand Flaxseed Oil.
Fast-growing sustainable Mānuka has been used in New Zealand for centuries, valued for its medicinal qualities, honey and strong wood.
Flaxseed Oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, and adds shine, strength & flavour to Bonno.
At the end of its life, Bonno can be discarded into your green space to decompose naturally. Our recyclable product packaging is made from verified sustainable resources.
Value
Bonno is the long lasting & natural chew. Low in calories, high in fibre, flavoursome and aromatic. Suitable for all dogs. Highly recommended for destructive or bored dogs. The one perfect toy.
Dental and Oral Health
Chewing helps your dog’s dental and oral health. Its mechanical action helps to scrape off plaque and tartar build-up. This can prevent bad breath.
Regular chewing strengthens your dog’s jaw muscles, contributing to overall good dental health.
Bonno can help during teething when young dogs chew to soothe the pain of sore gums and aid the cutting of adult teeth.
When to replace
Regularly inspect your dog's Bonno for signs of wear. Replace it when it's too short to hold, becomes a choking hazard, or if your dog can break off large pieces of the inner wood. Damage like cracking, splitting, or significant wear also means it's time to replace. Since Bonno is made from natural Mānuka wood, exposure to long periods of direct sunlight can cause splitting. Always discard large fragments to ensure safety.
Choose a Bonno size that is appropriate for your dog based on its weight and chewing behaviour. Upsize for strong chewers.
